A Case for Support
Vancouver is home to some of the best musicians in the world and a growing population eager for music of all kinds. Surprisingly, our city has no centre specifically dedicated to music creation, education and performance and experience.
It’s time for a great place to hear and discover live music in Vancouver. The Vancouver Independent Music Centre Society was established in 2011 to develop the VIM House—a well designed, acoustically excellent space featuring a 225 seat (325 capacity) concert venue, rehearsal and workshop spaces and a destination café. The VIM House will provide the intimacy and warmth for jazz, blues, early, folk and classical music, the energy and vibrancy that attracts audiences of all ages, and the technical brilliance required for electro-acoustic and experimental music.
It’s time for a great affordable and sustainable space for live music. The VIM House will support creativity, showcase local and world talent, educate and enable outreach through workshops, after school programs, webcasts and streaming and, ultimately, bring our community together.

We need your help. Our planning stage is well underway but we need you to help raise funds to take the planning of the VIM House to the next level.
Vancouver has a small but powerful community of music patrons, and we are calling on you now for your support. We consider VIM House to be one of the most important upcoming cultural developments in our city, but there is still work to be done. Your support is essential to turn the vision into reality.
We invite you to become a Visionary Supporter for the planning and development of this legacy to the city, a tribute to its musical history and future. Your contribution will help plan a successful, well-built and sustainable music centre, the first in Vancouver.
