As we continue to see the loss of grassroots venues for music, VIM is dedicated to realizing the vision of a new, accessible, state-of-the-art venue that suits the needs of audiences and the greater music community.

Since 2020, VIM has presented year-round concerts featuring over 200 musicians from Japanese folk music to Indonesian gamelan; singer-songwriter to free improvisation; Indo-Jazz fusion to indie-electronica, and beyond. The diverse music that VIM presents to Vancouver audiences year-round showcases the type of dynamic and innovative programming that will be presented at the centre.

VIM partners with various venues across the city to expand our audiences, provide opportunities and accessible spaces for cultural groups to connect with one another, and cultivate curiosity for new music in a city that is often siloed by genre.
