DESCRIPTION:TWO PERFORMANCES\n \nMonday\, July 22\, 2024\nTuesday\, July 23\, 2024 \nPerformance Works\, Granville Island\n1218 Cartwright St\, Vancouver \nShow: 7:30 pm\nBox office opens: 6:30 pm\nTheatre opens: 7:00 pm \nSliding Scale General Admission Tickets\n$20 / $25 / $30 ($15 for children 12 and under) \nGET TICKETS \nAbout the show: \nBetween spectacle and meditation\, Show On Earth is an intercultural shadowplay for Balinese gendèr wayang – a style of gamelan (traditional ensemble music of the Javanese\, Sundanese\, and Balinese peoples of Indonesia\, made up predominantly of percussive instruments) required for wayang (shadow puppet theatre). \nThe show will feature music performed by various traditional Gamelan instruments such as the gendèr\, suling\, and gong\, along with non-traditional instruments such as cello\, viola\, and violin.
